There's a new tour in town that promises to shake up the traditional male-dominated experience.
The time has come to start planning your next getaway to the beautiful Okanagan Valley. Farm to Glass Wine Tours has uncorked a new experience for wine enthusiasts–an eco-wine tour showcasing only women winemakers, a first of its kind in the Okanagan and Similkameen Valley.
The Wonder Women in Wine tour highlights women’s skills and valuable contributions to the wine industry, offering wine aficionados a chance to discover the world of wine from a fresh perspective–all guided by Jess Hopwood, a wine geek with a long list of accreditations, including a viticulture program.
According to Farm to Glass, guests on the Wonder Women in Wine tour will be ushered through tastings at estate and boutique wineries committed to eco-friendly practices. Then there’s a picturesque lunch picnic in a vineyards, and a hyper-local goodie bag that showcases products made by a selection of women-owned small businesses from Lake Country, Kelowna, and Naramata. The private tour, which includes being driven around in a luxury Tesla Model Y, starts at $649 for two guests.
The tour is a chance to connect with women winemakers responsible for crafting wines and gain insight into their unique techniques. It’s also an opportunity to listen to inspiring stories of success in an industry typically dominated by men–all while giving back to the community (the tour donates $10 per guest to their giveback program.)
By launching the women winemakers tour, Hopwood aims to empower and inspire more women to pursue careers in winemaking. Who knows, the next Wonder Woman in wine might be you.
