The Fraser Valley Food and Gluten-Free Living Show springs up in Abbotsford April 1 to 3.
Celebrate the abundance of B.C.’s local food and artisanal gluten-free products at the Fraser Valley Food & Gluten-Free Living Show, taking place from April 1 to 3 at the Tradex Exhibition Centre in Abbotsford. Here are just a few of the events worth checking out.
Make your way to the Celebrity Cooking Stage to see the Surreal Gourmet, Bob Blumer, cook his gluten-free grilled pizza, or learn how to make allergy-friendly spicy Szechuan eggplant with raw hoisin sauce from Dr. Theresa Nicassio, author of YUM: Plant-based Recipes For a Gluten-Free Diet.
Calling all carnivores! Make sure to stop by the Great Canadian Sausage Making Competition on April 2, where 16 professional sausage makers compete for cash prizes and bragging rights, with 19 categories covering best cooked or smoked, best raw uncooked, and best charcuterie. Cast your vote between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for the People’s Choice Award, and stick around to hear the results and chat with competitors at the 2:45 p.m. awards presentation.
Lighten things up at the Edible Garden, created by 99 Nursery and Florist, where gardening experts will give you hands-on advice for cultivating your own ready to eat homegrown creations, no matter what size your outdoor space.
End (or start!) your visit right at the Wine, Beer and Spirits Tasting Pavilion, where you can sip your way through over 20 boutique wineries and microbreweries from the Fraser Valley region and beyond. We’re looking forward to tasting what Mission Springs and Monte Creek Ranch bring to the table. For event details and to purchase tickets, visit fraservalleyfoodshow.com.
