Take a tour of the 3,000-square-foot PNE Prize Home destined for the Naramata Bench.
Destined for wine country on the Naramata Bench and valued at a cool $2.1 million, this year’s 2015 PNE Prize Home isn’t open for public walk-throughs until July, but we’ve got a sneak peek into all its three bedrooms and three baths. The designer, manufacturer and installer is BC-based modular home company Karoleena, and the latest instalment in the Prize Home Lottery franchise is touted as being the most high-tech and environmentally friendly home yet.Tickets on sale now at pneprizehome.ca.
1. Engineered Green Roof. Living technologies company Architek built the living green roof which will improve air-conditioning, reduce energy costs, improve soundproofing (for those rowdy Naramata wine parties!) and lengthen the roof’s life expectancy.2. Home Automations System. Very 2015, the new prize home comes with its own ‘brain,’ created by Elan Home Systems that has a computerized hub featuring a thermostat, security system and entertainment centre controlled via remote.3. Upper Floor Patio. This extra large private retreat is made with a bio-based wood substitute and reinforced with hybrid material that’s supposed to look and feel like wood, but is around 60% rice husks (seriously), 22% salt and 18% mineral oil.
