The luxury vibe in this Calgary bedroom is undeniable—but that’s to be expected when you base your interior design around “the feeling” of champagne.

“When you walk in here, you just want to have a glass of bubbly,” says Katie Rioux, principal of DWK Interiors, laughing. She and design partner Candice Arcuri are responsible for this whole boldly beautiful home (stay tuned for the full tour later this month here on westernliving.ca), but this champagne-inspired main bedroom is worthy of a toast in and of itself.

Of course, the homage to the celebratory sparkling wine is subtle—don’t expect a big neon Moet sign here. Twin light pendants from Cartwright Lighting flank the bed, the glass bulbs reminiscent of champagne bubbles, while the overall palette leans into effervescent blushes and golds.

A custom upholstered headboard runs the full height of the wall: a true moment of boutique-hotel refinement. It’s just one of many details here that exude a fizzy sort of glamour—think sheer drapery and mirror details, and hazy abstract paintings from Calgary artist Katrina Da Silva. Velvety shell chairs, a shag rug, and hide-wrapped side tables bring in additional hits of sumptuous texture.

And attached to this chic suite? An indulgent walk-in closet that makes us want to pop some bottles. Cheers to a gorgeous design, DWK.
