Never enough pastels!
Sometimes you just want to immerse yourself in soothing lavenderand designers Trevor Ciona and Curtis Elmy of Atmosphere Interior Design have got just the room for you.
No surprises herethe bold and beautiful, colour!colour!colour! palette of this Saskatoon bedroom gets its starting point in that gorgeous Prism Icons wallpaper from Cole & Son. It's a complex repeating pattern in lavender, teal and gold, but just as critically, there'sa neutral grey in there to anchor the space. The grey base in it was the bridge that allowed us to connect the room to the design of rest of the house, through the crown moulding,” says Elmy.
That neutral base gave the team the freedom to go all out in the rest of the room: lavender walls, lavender bed linens and a bold teal headboard, with accents of white throughout (linen-look sheers, Restoration Hardware side tables, Arteriors pendant lamp).
Sometimes Trevor and I feel like when people try to do colour, they don't do it intentionally, says Elmy. there'sone feature wall, and it doesn't go anywhere else. We focused on getting colour into everythingright down to the purple lamp on the bedside table.
The final finishing touch is a desk lamp in the just-right shade of teala happy accident of a discovery when the team was at HomeSense one day. You could search for that perfect colour of lamp, and it would probably impossible, says Elmy with a laugh. And we just stumbled on it, and it was perfect. It was one of those things you find that later drives home that the bed colour choice was the right one. Some things fall into your lap because it was meant to be.
