Bring on the early '90s nostalgia.
While there'splenty that's very early-'90s about this colourful kitchenthe smoked-glass refrigerator, the short backsplash, the bold pattern, the industrial-inspired shelvingthe angular cabinets still feel compelling and relevant today.
The space was designed by architect Gordon Filewych for the firm Jenkins and Sturgess (which would later become Sturgess Architecturea stalwart in WL over the years), and was inspired by the artwork of homeowner Douglas Fraser: heavy black outlines that frame large chunks of colour. And those cabinets? When the homeowners couldnt decide on pulls, the architect devised the diagonal door cuts with triangular cut-outs.
